# HomeView
HomeView is a kitchen-wall home screen in the style of Apple's HomeView, for inexpensive Android photo frames: a Home screen of live tiles, Standby clock faces, weather, calendars, dinner planning with a shopping list, and Sonos and Spotify controls.
A small Python server on your home network serves the pages; each frame shows them full screen in its browser. There are no accounts, no cloud service of its own and no database. Everything specific to your house lives in one file, `config.json`.
The screenshots in this README were taken from this repository with its sample data (a made-up calendar, drawn sample photos and a few TheMealDB recipes).
## Features
**Standby faces.** When nobody has touched the frame for a while it switches to Standby and cycles through clock and information faces: photos, Info, Today, This week, Weather, Coming up, Analog, Numerals, Minimal and Month. A Now Playing face takes over while music plays. Tap to go back Home.
**Home, Today, Weather and Calendar.** The Home launcher is a grid of live tiles. Today shows the date, the hourly forecast, the next events, tonight's dinner and the shopping count. Weather and air quality come from Open-Meteo; calendars come from any ICS link, with several calendars in different colors.
**Meal planning.** Browse or search recipes from TheMealDB, plan dinners for the next 7 days, cook from a one-step-per-screen view with one-tap kitchen timers, and get a shopping list that merges the ingredients of every planned dinner. You can add your own items (milk, paper towels) to the list. Timers, the plan and checked-off items are kept on the server, so every frame shows the same thing.
**Music.** Sonos rooms with grouping, volume, queue, favorites, sleep timer and EQ, plus Spotify search, playlists and Spotify Connect. A QR code on the Music screen lets a phone on the same Wi-Fi send a Spotify link to a room. The Music shot above uses the built-in preview data (`?demo=1`, with made-up titles) because the screenshots were taken without Sonos speakers.
**Light and Glass looks, and a Night clock.** Settings picks when to go to Standby, the look, the background and which Standby faces are on. A dim clock shows from 11 PM to 5 AM.
